run windows on a write protected disk

Hi,

I’m currently using WES7 OS.
I want to use a hardware protection for the disk that is configured via the bios (Local SSD Protection).
When I’m enabling this option the OS doesn’t load.
I tried to first enable write filter on the disk using “enhanced write filter” or “file based write filter”.
Still doesn’t work.
Is there a way to run standard windows OS (not PE) on a disk that is entirely write protected via hardware protection?

Thanks,
Sagi

It might SEEM like a reasonable idea, but I?ve never seen it done. I don?t think Windows (and NTFS) are designed to support this.

Is there a reason you want to do this, instead of just using one of the write filters?

Sagi, you are going to run into unsupported voodoos here. There are
scenarios where Windows will write to the FS without going through the
official stack. For example, early in the boot process, the boot manager
writes data to the FS using a builtin ntfs/fastfat library and it may get
angry if it cannot do so.
