The WHQL guidelines are usually pretty clear. Have you gone through those? Have you contacted the WHQL support folks? They are quite responsive.

Well, where did you download the HLK and the testing guidelines? Do you
have a WHQL account? If you go to the WHQL web site at
sysdev.microsoft.com, you’ll see a “SUPPORT” link at the bottom. That
page has a link for “Support for Windows HCK 8.1”.

You should keep this on the mailing list so others benefit.

Without using mutt device how I can run the hlk test case to validate
the certification for USB type c device ?

Remember that USB Type C is just a connector. It’s not a type of
device. You have a USB 3 device.

You have to decide exactly what you want to do. Are you looking to get
USB certification for your device? Do you want the Windows logo for
your device? Are you just looking to do more extensive testing? Those
all have different answers.

If you want USB certification, so you can put the USB logo on the box,
then you have to go to the USB Implementor’s Forum (usb.org) and read
about their procedures. Commonly, you will submit your device to a
testing laboratory, which will do the requisite tests and return the
results to you.

If you want to get the Windows logo, then there are two steps. You have
to download the USB3CV testing tool from the USB Forum,
http://www.usb.org/developers/tools , and run it on your device. After
that, you can run the HLK tests, which test the driver. The HLK can
read the USB3CV logs to verify that you passed the USB command tests.

The MUTT device is only needed if you want to do more extensive testing
of your device, such as the Type-C interoperability tests.

How I can get help from whql support… Could u please give me the ID…

I did tell you. Look, this is a complicated topic, involving several
different organizations. You have a lot of research to do.
