Printer drivers passed WHQL, still get "unsigned driver" warning

We recently finished testing some printer drivers for XP and 2003, and submitted them to WHQL. They passed, we got back .CAT files and our QA group double checked that the OS no longer gives the unsigned warning. All except one of the 64-bit drivers passed this QA quick-check. One 64-bit model still had the "unsigned driver" warning, despite the fact that MS gave us a .CAT file for it (and no warnings of any kind). I *think* the problem is a typo in the .INF file. We had the following sections: [SourceDiskNames] and [SourceDiskFiles.NTamd64] in the 'failing' driver, instead of [SourceDiskNames.amd64] and [SourceDiskFiles] which are in the 'passing' drivers (some 64-bit, some 32-bit). We are resubmitting the drivers to see if this is the problem. If this does turn out to be the problem, who do we report the problem to, and do we get a rebate on the WHQL submission cost? (I'm not really involved in the testing, just the development of the drivers so I'm not very familiar with the WHQL process). Thanks, ScottR Guess autopass really means autopass

RE: Printer drivers passed WHQL, still get "unsigned driver" warning

Hi, I use inf2cat.exe to create .cat file, which also checks my inf file. In output you can see warnings and errors if your .inf file is not correct. Same tool require OS to be defined, and not only x32 or x64 system It seems that depending on the OS it creates slightly different .cat file. best regards, Milan
