Check the Knowledge Base!
(By: Hector J. Rodriguez | Published: 31-Jul-01| Modified: 09-Oct-02)

One of the best ways to stay up to date with the rapidly changing world of Windows 2000 is via the Microsoft Knowledge Base (KB). The KB list bugs, problems, how-to's and other issues from Microsoft.

By using the search facility at http://search.support.microsoft.com you can query the KB for new items entered in the past x days (where x is 7,14,30, or 90). KB articles tend to be released in groups. In perusing the KB database recently, I found 200 entries that were newly added in the past 14 days -- all dealing with post-SP1 issues. Below, I've listed some of the ones I found most interesting (most are driver or file system related).

I know that we've actually spent time here trying to debug a problem that we thought was in our code, only to discover later that the problem had already been documented as an NT problem in the KB. So, remember: Check the KB!
