Check the Knowledge Base!
(By: Hector J. Rodriguez | Published: 31-Jul-01| Modified: 09-Oct-02)

One of the best ways to stay up to date with the rapidly changing world of Windows 2000® is via the Microsoft Knowledge Base (KB). The KB list bugs, problems, how-to's and other issues from Microsoft.

By using the search facility at http://search.support.microsoft.com you can query the KB for new items entered in the past x days (where x is 7,14,30, or 90). KB articles tend to be released in groups. In perusing the KB database recently, I found 200 entries that were newly added in the past 14 days -- all dealing with post-SP1 issues. Below, I've listed some of the ones I found most interesting (most are driver or file system related).

I know that we've actually spent time here trying to debug a problem that we thought was in our code, only to discover later that the problem had already been documented as an NT problem in the KB. So, remember: Check the KB!
