HLK Camera Record Indication Test

Some months ago, I reported trouble passing HLK with a USB camera that
passed HCK cleanly.  Five of the tests were getting a “not implemented”
failure.  After what seems like a very, very long wait, tech support has
admitted this is an OS bug (probably a Media Foundation bug), and issued
an errata that does eliminate those 5 failures.

At this point, my client is getting exactly one HLK failure.  It is
recommended that USB cameras have an LED indicator to show when the
camera is recording.   The HLK has a manual test to check that
indicator.  We do not have such an indicator (which is allowed), and it
is not at all clear how we tell the HLK to bypass that test.  We do see
the “record” indication in a popup on the screen, which I would expect,
but that doesn’t satisfy HLK.

Anyone know the magic formula?
