The Build utility is included in the Windows DDK as a tool for writers of device drivers.
The Windows DDK includes build environments that can be used to create drivers for Windows 2000, Windows XP, and Windows Server 2003.
The Windows DDK no longer includes build environments for Windows 98 and Windows Me. If you intend to build drivers on these systems, install the Windows XP SP1 DDK.
